Fitness: The Overview

GymGourmet Congratulations

Congratulations on getting started, here at GymGourmet, we are committed to being your journey partners into exploring fitness the right way!

Are you ready to change your life?

Fitness is generally broken down into three key elements, which are pillars affecting your success as you pursue your fitness goals. Non-modifiable attributes such as genetics are not covered in this introduction.

 1. Psychology

GymGourmet Psychology

"I think therefore I am."

This is the core behind being fit. Before one becomes fit, one will first have to believe that one is fit. Imagine someone who identifies as an athlete.

When faced with a new fitness challenge such as handstand pushups, the athlete would think:

Can I train to do this? Otherwise, how can I train to get there? On the other hand, someone who identifies as "unfit" would categorise handstand push-ups as "for the fit people" This might be so even though they are of the same fitness level!

Surprise! We KNOW that you're fit and you're only a training program away from your goal. We hope you see that, and start participating in activities that get you there!

The Goal:

May you find your personal fitness identity! Whether you enjoy CrossFit or Yoga, eating boiled chicken breasts or sashimi, we hope that you will find your healthier likes and dislikes, to follow you for the rest of your life!

To show you how much we believe in you, drop us an email and our team will be happy to help you out with any questions.

2. Diet

GymGourmet Diet

"You are what you eat."

Eat good, look good. Eat healthy, be healthy. Eat well, be well.

We all naturally have different preferences for foods, diets and timing of foods. Some people find Intermittent Fasting great, others find the Ketogenic diet fantastic. There is a huge variety of foods and meal plans out there. We're absolutely sure there is one out there for you, have patients and keep looking!

The Goal: To find a diet that you enjoy, which is healthy at the same time. Whether its intermittent fasting to a modified ketogenic diet, take your time to find the perfect diet which you enjoy and is healthy, and you will be in shape for the rest of your life(as long as you stick to it!).

3. Exercise

"Exercise is a celebration of what the body can do."

GymGourmet Exercise

We believe that with the right training program, any can do most things. We'd love to live in a world where everyone can look and feel the way they want. Let us be a part of your journey!

Whether you love a good sweat, love team sports or hate other people. There's a sport for you! With so many formats of physical play, we know that there's a calorie burning, muscle building activity out there you'll come to love!

The Goal: The goal then, like diet, is to find an activity you love. Whether its going to the gym or doing any sport, find one that you love, stick to it, and you will be fit in no time!

In summary, you can get into shape really quickly, with crazy exercise and perhaps fasting. However, not only does that damage your body and metabolism causing more weight gain in the long run, unless your plan is to work out 8 hours a day for the rest of your life and never eat, perhaps that is not the way to go. So dear fit friend, take your time, enjoy the process, and we're here with you!
